April 8, 2019 - Celebrating Dad’s 77th Birthday at Tavern on Jane and Brian’s visit

Brian and I spent the afternoon together; he was visiting from San Francisco. I took him Citibiking to Hudson Yards, then we took the ferry to the Rockaways and went to our WeWork office at 222 Broadway. We met Mom and Dad at Tavern on Jane to celebrate Dad’s 77th birthday. Heather and I were renting an apartment on Wall St. This was the last time we were all together.

Mom and Dad had recently returned from another trip to Germany.This time they went to the famous Nürburgring race track.
I miss the clink of the beer glasses as we said “Cheers!”

We sat at the same table each time. The lunches were quick but enjoyable.

Munich, 2014

The four of us met in Munich for an extended weekend. I did the Munich marathon. It was Brian’s first trip to Germany, maybe Europe too, and we toured Munich, Zugspitze and drove by Neuschwanstein Castle.

My plane at EWR. I sat next to a gentleman from Bangladesh who was visiting his family. I helped him on the flight figure out which way to pray in the direction of Mecca during the flight. He drew notes on a piece of paper.

The flight before mine to Frankfurt. Mom and Dad were on that 747 a time or two. We used to have fun tracking them online.

Dad’s 67th Birthday March, 2009

At our 17th St apt we had purchased 5 months earlier

German Lutheran church on 8th Ave/21st St.

Feb. 18, 2020. Last time I saw Dad in-person. They came to visit our new rental apt on 95th St before we moved-in. We had pizza, then they continued to Greenpoint for Polish food. I took photos of them each time I saw them, and ran after them to take this photo after I remembered I had forgotten to take one. The photos were very important to me. My parents were getting older and I valued our time together. Covid started in March, 2020, we went to the cabin for the next 6 months.

Queens Food Tour

We did a food tour of international restaurants in Queens going from A-Z. The group started off small and grew larger. It ended when Mom got offended by a joke.

Mom and Dad visit our apt at 270 W 22nd St. We bought 17th St a few months later on Halloween.

March 20, 2004 (Dad’s 62nd birthday) Garden of the Gods, Colorado Springs, CO.

They moved to Woodland Park, CO in 2000 to ski more. Dad had a nice woodworking setup in their basement. After about 6 years they got bored of the area and moved back to NJ.

October 25, 2004

I did a solo trip to London, then met up with Mom and Dad in Munich.

Mom and Dad’s former friends Jack and Kathy from the Breckenridge Inn.

No job, single and living in Southampton, NJ this was a week off for me. I had just moved from Baltimore. After this I moved to Millburn, NJ briefly, then to Hoboken.

2005 NYC Auto Show

April 11, 2005. Mom and Dad were living in West New York, NJ and I was living in Maplewood, NJ. We went to the auto show every couple of years at the Javitts Center.
